Before Shabbat

I’m a Reform congregational rabbi In Newton, MA. I’ve been doing this for a long time; counting internships, over 30 years.  I’ve learned a lot about Jews, ritual, life, love and loss in that time.  My blog is an attempt to distill my years of experience and wisdom and success and failure and wholeness and brokenness into words.  Which is a challenge, because I think that music, particularly jazz, may express that which is inexpressible through language.
